Yanmar Marine powers RTA water taxis

Al-Futtaim Auto & Machinery Co. (FAMCO) recently welcomed Mr. Naoya Umegaki, Managing Director, Yanmar Asia (Europe) Corporation Pte. Ltd, who was on an official visit to the UAE. Mr. Umegaki was hosted at Festival Marina, Dubai Festival City by Len Hunt, Group Director, Automotive as well as Paul Floyd, Managing Director, FAMCO and Mahmood Wahab, Prime Power Divisional Manager, FAMCO

Senior officials from the Road Transport Authority's (RTA) marine agency accompanied the group for a brief tour of Dubai Creek on the latest RTA water taxis which are each powered by twin Yanmar 315 hp engines. The RTA will soon deploy 10 of these luxury water taxis to ferry passengers between important locations along the coast of Dubai

Mr. Umegaki commented that he was highly impressed with the performance of Yanmar marine engines in the region and the dedication of the entire FAMCO team towards promoting the brand. He said he was optimistic about the future as the market begins to recover, saying that newly launched products from Yanmar will widen the appeal of the brand in the market. Discussions were also held regarding the cooperation between FAMCO and Yanmar Marine towards the development of new markets in the region
