VOLVO recognises FAMCO as International Dealer of the Year

Dubai, January 31, 2012:FAMCO was awarded global honours after it won the prestigious Volvo Construction Equipment International Dealer of the Year award, capping a successful2011 which also saw the Al-Futtaim group companyacquire the exclusive dealershipfor Volvo Construction Equipment in Saudi Arabia.

A leading Middle East player in construction,transport and industrial equipment, FAMCO had earlier won two international OperationalExcellence awards and the coveted silver certificate in the Volvo PartnershipMonitor programme.

TheDealer of the Year award was presented to FAMCO’s Managing Director Paul Floydat the recent Volvo Construction Equipment International Dealer Conferencein AbuDhabi, timed to coincide with the Volvo Ocean Race stopover.

“2011was a year of many milestones in our history with Volvo Construction Equipment,and we are thrilled to begin 2012 with this great recognition from Volvo,” saidMr. Floyd. “It’s a great honour to be globally recognisedby one of our mostimportant principals and partners. Volvo Construction Equipment isdistributed in more than 100 countries throughout Europe, North and SouthAmerica, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

MrKjell Carlsson, Vice President -Sales &Commercial Management, EMEA at VolvoConstruction Equipment gave unstinting praise for FAMCO’s growing stature asone of Middle East’s leading dealers.

Our business relation is fully transparent and thecustomer support is outstanding. Furthermore they are expanding the territoryto cover Saudi Arabia, and last but not least they have during the last quartersecured several major contracts for construction equipment.”

FAMCOwas successfully critiqued ondealership performance and image, salesdevelopment, targeted marketing, procedures and systems, investmentcapabilities, staff capability and product knowledge, superior customer serviceand satisfaction as well as spare parts availability.

Mr Floyd also said the full marketintroduction of all Volvo CE’s soft products such asthe ‘CareTrack’ remotemonitoring system and machine inspection programmes among others has furtherestablished FAMCO as providers of benchmarking service and product support.

This is the third time FAMCO has beenrecognised as Volvo’s global Dealer of the Year. The previous year’s awardswere in 2001 and 2002.
