July 07, 2010, FAMCO launches new range of Ingersoll Rand compressors

Al-Futtaim Auto & Machinery Company's (FAMCO) Power & Industrial Products division in conjunction with Ingersoll Rand, the leading manufacturer of industrial air compressors, launched the latest range of 'R series' 90-160kW contact-cooled rotary screw air compressors, at three product launch events held between 21st and 23rd June in Ras Al Khaimah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Ingersoll Rand's new line of R series compressors were designed based on extensive global surveys encompassing the views of more than 2,500 customers and Ingersoll Rand's engineers focus on reliability, increased efficiency and productivity, including making serviceability easier.

The new range includes many advanced features such as Progressive Adaptive Control (PAC) protection which is an integrated intelligent system that monitors filtration, ambient temperature and other parameters adapting the operation of the compressor to reduce energy consumption, lower noise levels and maximise compressor uptime.

Efficiency and energy saving benefits from using the Variable Speed Drive (VSD) motor option has virtually no degradation in specific power at partial load, with the sequential cooling feature reducing ambient air temperature, significantly reducing energy required as well as the related cost of downstream compressed air equipment.

The launch events were well attended by over 240 FAMCO clients including consultants, technical directors and project managers from a range of industries such as oil and gas, manufacturing, construction, chemical and food and beverage sectors.

The market for air compressors in the UAE is mature and highly competitive, however Ingersoll Rand's constant innovation as seen in the new R series serves to help FAMCO continue to grow their market share and enhance Ingersoll Rand's global reputation as a recognised leader in this industry.
