FAMCO sponsors Gulf Traffic 2011 Awards

As part of FAMCO’s commitment to promote traffic safety in the UAE, the company sponsored the Gulf Traffic 2011 Awards which were held on December 12th as part of Gulf Traffic 2011.
The exhibition, conference and awards were held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre between the 12th and 14th December under the patronage of H.E. LT. General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Commander in Chief of Dubai Police. Gulf Traffic 2011 is the largest exhibition focusing on the road, parking and public transport industries in the Middle East and the only platform that enables suppliers and manufacturers to secure business opportunities from traffic and transport projects in the region.
The Gulf Traffic Conference, which was held for two days in parallel to the exhibition, focused on road safety and intelligent transport systems. The Gulf Traffic Awards received a record number of 70 submissions over seven categories and the winners were presented with their awards by Frank O Connor, General Manager, Truck and Bus, FAMCO at a spectacular gala ceremony.
Frank O Connor said “One of a company’s greatest assets is its people. We believe that using the Volvo products, combined with driver development can potentially reduces accidents as well as directly improving fuel economy, protecting customer profitability and the environment. This in turn protects the profitability of our customers businesses, whilst making the UAE a safer driving environment.”
